The computer recognizes the basic stamp until after the circuit is built and the program is loaded into memory on the project DigitalPotUpDown.bs2.· After loading the program the stamp no longer operates properly and is not detected even after following the basic troubleshooting proceedures listed in the manual.· We are trying to get the computer to recognize the basic stamp again but it will not.

    Hello,

It sounds like there may be a short in the circuit. Have you tried removing the connected circuit and identify the BASIC Stamp again? Also, how are you powering the BASIC Stamp.

We are powering the stamp with a 9volt battery. We did find out that the ad5220 was bad replaced it and now it will go thru two cycles and then stop running and will not loop as programed. However if you turn it off, depending on how long you leave it off it will go anywhere from 2 to 6 cycles and then stop running. We do have the circuit connected just like the diagram.

    Cindy,

Try a fresh 9 V battery. If the symptoms persist, try disconnecting any leads that are plugged in to Vdd, Vin, Vss, and P0 through P15. Does the Debug Terminal indicate that the program runs, or do you still only get 2 to 6 cycles?

    Andy,
Thank you. We put a new battery in, and the computer still did not recognize the stamp. Check the Vdd and it was at 4.98V. Tried another battery anyway and it measured at Vdd 4.98V but, the computer recognized the stamp and began working properly. The program works great.
