BOT behind a BOT........

I have a pair of BOEBOTS and I am interested in making something like Master - Slave Follower in which one BOT follows the other. I have worked out as per the Activity #2 of Chapter 8 , can anyone help me out for more fine movement.

You can use RF transceivers to copy the movements of another Boe-Bot.· If you had two Boe-Bots side by side you could have both of them performing the same movements at the same time.· Is this what you are looking for?

I don't have RF transceivers nor any such other components , I have just the components included in the BOEBOT kit by default and I want to make use of the available components and do my task.............

Personally, I'd use the IR emitters (also known as an "IR LED") on the lead-bot, and the IR-decoder on the trail-bot.

You could have three IR-LED's on the lead bot -- a center, a left, and a right. Make sure the IR beam is mechanically constrained (like with a short length of heat-shrink tubing). Then you can have the follow-bot correct its following so it stays in contact with the 'center' beam. You could do something similar with a 'left' and 'right' LED on the lead-bot, and have the follow-bot adjust its position so it can see BOTH beams to stay on center-line.

Note 'reflections' from the environment might make this approach difficult, but it should work. And you can see a lit IR-LED if you look at it through a digital camera.
