I was wondering if there are any stamps or kits to work with the stamps for storage?

-Thanks,
Rich

How much storage do you need and does it have to be a PC compatible flash drive or SD card type storage? If you only need 128K to 512K bytes, a couple of conventional EEPROMs can be easily attached to any Stamp and there are plenty of examples of their use complete with code to read/write data.

If you need more, GHI Electronics and FTDI both make an interface for USB flash drives that communicate via a serial connection and could certainly work with a Stamp. Parallax is experimenting with the FTDI device (called the Vinculum VDIP1) and will probably have some Stamp code examples eventually, but not at present.

Hi Rich, FTDI also make a unit called the Vdrive2 specifically designed to store data on USB mass storage and interface via serial/spi. The file system is FAT32 so you can create data, files and directory's with a Stamp microprocessor and later transfer them to your PC. I have one up and running right now, it wasn't particularly difficult and I am pretty impressed with it's capabilities. Mouser sell them for $26.80 and you can pick up a 1gig thumdrive for around $15 dollars.

Hrmm i'm an electronic newbie but love to program. I figured why not kill two birds with one stone. Learn a new programming language and electronics at the same time ehhh. I have so many electronic/programming projects floating around my head and where to start first!? I'll check out all these links and see what I can learn and do.

One of these days I was hopping to get Linux on some sort of storage device and utilize Linux as the embedded program/software. Thanks for all your guy's input.

    -Thanks,
    Rich
