Hi all!
I wish to know if it's possible work with two ping sensors face to face in order to get the chirp started from a sensor by the other one.
there is someone can help me?
thanks

The only way you could do this is to disconnect the transmitter on one PING and somehow arrange for both PINGs to be triggered at the same time. The microcontroller on the PING won't listen to the receiver unless it has transmitted an ultrasonic pulse.

Why would you want to? The whole point of a 'ping' is that the time of the 'echo' of the 'chirp' is correlated to the time when the ping sensor sent out the 'chirp'. If you break that correlation, then you'll find out nothing about the distance.

I suppose you could try to use the 'ping' as a 'listener', listening for other unit's 'chirp'. I don't think that would be very reliable, even if it were possible. And as Mike has said, the firmware on the ping sensor doesn't support a 'passive' mode.

Ok. I've made some test and the result is it's impossible because the measured range is incorrect! what do you think about unsoldering the receiver from ping1 and connecting the receiver of ping2 on the board 1?
Could you suugest other sensor that are able to work face to face?
    thanks a lot!

once again, why would you want to do that? Not only is it going to be hard if not immpossible to implement, it will cost you an extra $30 for another sensor. Can you at least explain your project so we know why you want to pings face to face?
