·an you use the Microsoft Robotics Studio with the standard BOE bot kit from Parallax?· Or do you have to have some conversion chip of some sort?
I purchased the standard BOE bot kit and was using STAMP module for programming. But I have not worked on the kit for a long time. I'd like to use the MSRS that I read about in the spring 2007 ROBOT magazine.
Regarding the use of MSRS, what if I don't want to use the bluetooth device with MSRS? I'd still like to take advantage of the MS prorgamming environment.· Or is MS strictly promoting bluetooth as the communications mode?
Yes, and here is a thread where I used a USB to serial converter, and another guy used a direct serial connection. Read the entire thread carefully before proceeding.

There's only one extra piece of hardware you'll need: an eb500 Bluetooth module <http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=30068>.
Also, here is a link to the Bluetooth Boe-Bot Kit for MSRS page: http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=28118. It's got links to all the downloads you'll need to get started.
