I would like to get a quantity of the pin headers that are are used in the bread-boards for connection to servos, whiskers,·and the like.

Does anyone have·an equivalent·DIGIKEY part number handy? I am hoping to get a 40 pin stick of pins that can be broken to get combinations of 3,4, or 5 pins.

Doesn't have to be a DIGIKEY part -

Parallax part is:
451-00303

    Martin:

The pin "tail" is not as long as the ones·that are sent in·the kits.

The ones from the kit measure:
    ···················· "Matting length": .260
    ········ and······ "Tail length":······ .230

I'm guessing that they must be some sort of a "connector" instead of·a "board pin header".

Thanks for pointing me at that spec. The closest in the spec was .280 & .250· or· .235 & .210 (but they are not catalog items as far as I can tell).

Try looking through the selection on page 1111 of the Mouser catalog. I think you'll find something that will work, though you may have to pay for the gold plated ones. Hopefully what you need will be in stock.

I appreciate the help looking for a part number.
    ·
Parallax support suggested this Digi-Key part:
    S1022E-36-ND (around $2 a single strip).
Tin pins, Single Row Straight (36 Pins), and around $2 a single strip.
    "Matting Length" - Dimension A - .230
    "Tail Length" - Dimension B - .230
    ·
This Digi-Key part appears to be a reasonable alternative:
    929834E-02-36-ND (around $1.80 a single strip).
    36P STRT 1 ROW TIN
    "Matting Length" - Dimension L - .235
    "Tail Length" - Dimension B - .210
    ·
The Mouser number for the same manufacture is:
    517-834-02-36 (around $1,40 a single strip)
Pin Strip Headers 36P STRT 1 ROW TIN.
    "Matting Length" - Dimension A - .235
    "Tail Length" - Dimension B - .210
    ·
The .210 “Tail Length” appears to be long enough to slide into·a female (servo type) connector and make a good mechanical connection.
