I want to track the position·of an moving robot or object in a small area like a back garden or large room (say 5m x 5m in size). Does anyone have any ideas on how this may be accomplished ?
One of my thoughts is
a)·have 3 or 4 IR transmitters·placed on known coordinates on the perimeter of the area, each transmitting a unique IR digital code into the area.
b) the object is fitted with some sort of 360degree IR receiver so that the angles between the transmitters may be calculated, and hence the coordinates of the object.
Any links or ideas appreciated.
