I am currently in need of some help... i was wondering how i should go about doing this project... i have a sensor that uses has 2 leads a ground and an output. The sensor outputs a voltage from 0-1 volts and everything inbetween. I was wondering if it was possible to detect the voltages coming out of the sensor without blowing up the bs2?

The BS2 works fine with voltages on any pin ranging from zero to +5V. Look at Tracy Allen's website (www.emesystems.com/BS2index.htm#interface) for lots of information including measuring voltages that don't change quickly (Measuring small voltages using RCTime). You can also use an external analog to digital converter. See the Parallax tutorials on Basic Analog and Digital (www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=28155).

    EMPTY_C -

What kind of sensor is it? Who makes it? Do you have a datasheet?

Read the Basic Analog and Digital tutorial. The analog to digital converter they use is pretty fast.
