Is it fried?

Working too late last night, I accidentally provided 7.65V of AC to the 9V terminal of the BOE for a few seconds. This morning, I used what was left of a spent 9V batter (about 7V). IDE said it didn't detect the BS2. Is it toast?

The regulator on the Stamp is supposed to be protected internally against connecting the power source backwards, so it should be ok with low voltage AC. I don't remember which regulator Parallax is using on the BOE itself, but I think it's similarly protected. I would suspect your battery. The only way you're going to know is to get a fresh battery and try again.

It's most likely your 'spent 9 volt' is the problem.

I noticed that you posted the same message on the Javelin forum (you're not really supposed to do that). The Javelin has a different kind of voltage regulator than the other Stamps and I don't know if it's protected against reverse voltages. Again, try with a fresh battery.

    Mike,

Yes, I posted the same question there because, unwittingly, when I wasn't getting a response from the BS2 I substituted the Javelin. I was wondering if anyone had a similar (reverse voltage) experience with the Javelin Stamp.
