GPS Module

Hi i find it hard to work with the GPS module indoors. This is because it is hard to find and keep a signal from a satellite. So i was wondering if it would be possible to create some kind of antenna to attatch it it. I would need to be able to do this without any type of modifications to the actually component itself. Any information would help because i am not exactly even sure what part of the module picks up the signal. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a GPS project, built without a Parallax unit.· It runs being in the house.· It captures SATs a lot better on the south side of the house; on the north side, sometimes it doesn't capture at all.

My GPS unit receives really well. It can sync as fast or faster than any unit I have. It even worked once on my bench. (I think a couple of sats. dropped out of orbit and were outside my window). But, the fact remains, GPS indoors, is a no go. The transmitted signal is just not that strong. I wish it was, but it's not. The fact is, outside with a lot of trees, it will drop out. (Just when I needed help getting out of the forest.)

On a second note, getting the plus or minus 'foot' accuracy needed for indoors, isn't even available outdoors. It at best would tell you what room you were in. Sorry but the GPS units need to be outdoors.
