Old Man Newbie Trying to Figure out a Problem

I have a Boe-Bot kit and I am using MS Robotics kit. Everything was going fine using the documentation that came with the Boe Bot kit until! --

I attached the whiskers and built the two nodes for P5 and P7 as dictated in the documentation.

P7 works like a charm. P5 will not work. I moved the P5 node to the P7 pin and all was well.

I then moved P5 to P6 and reprogrammed to use P6 and all was well.

So I added an LED to P5 and sent it a HIGH/LOW sequence and all was well.

Does anyone have an idea why I am having this problem with P5 and what a newbie should do next to get a diagnosis?

Best regards and please overlook all misused terminology. I'll learn, (I hope).

    Joss -

It sounds to me like all you're lacking is a bit of confidence, and that will come with time. You did the diggnostic work but failed to come to a conclusion. The conclusion that I would come to given those reseults is that there was something loose or wrong with the original wiring of pin port 5. That has since been corrected. Simple enough?

    Joss--

My guess is that the whisker originally connected to P5 was not electrically sound. From your excellent diagnostics it seems that everything else worked, which leads me to belive that the original whisker connection was bad.

Remember, it is just a guess.

    Gents ---

Turns out I didn't give you enough information. I have an EB500 BlueTooth module hooked to my Boe-Bot and it uses pins 1 and 5 for its own purposes.

I should have read the documentation much closer. Lesson learned. (I dodged a bullet, I think. The EB500 is still working!)

    I appreciate your help.

    Regards
