Hello!

I'm a student working on a project that requires an interface between the eb500 bluetooth appmod and my bluetooth-enabled Samsung Blackjack cell phone. The objective that we're working towards is to eventually enable the Board of Education to dial a predetermined number in the cell phone and speak GPS coordinates to the receiving party via a text-to-speech module. Recently, we have been successful in connecting our eb500 to the cell phone (both the eb500 and the cell phone register a connection), however we are still in the fog about how to send commands to the cell phone to place the call. What commands would be use to achieve this? we're using the SEROUT command to establic connection and have used it successfully to transmit ASCII characters to another eb500 within our room. Thank you for all your help and assistance!!!

    Chris,

This would require detailed knowledge of the phone itself…In all likelihood there are differences from phone to phone on how to do this. There’s no guarantee that the phone is even capable of doing this or that it supports SPP from the EB500, even though a connection was made. You did not list the make/model of Cell Phone which may aid someone in helping you. You may need to contact the manufacturer of the phone for detailed Bluetooth information and once you have that you could program the BASIC Stamp to communicate with it. I hope this helps. Take care.
