Electronic Locks

I want to make a door in our shop into an electronic lock with the Parallax RF card reader.· My problem is that I am looking at doing it as fast as I can without major modifications to the existing door.· I'm wondering if there might be a web site that would sell lock set-ups that are ready to install in the door and just need a system to activate it???· I tried to google the subject but I just go crazy sites with little help.· I'm sure several of you have made projects like this one.· Thanks in advance!!·

try googling electric door locks,,or u might call a lock smith or a dead bolt with a servo to twist the handle
and what about the security doors with the button to "buzz u in"they should be pretty· easy to hack

Call a locksmith ans ask for an ellectrified latch to be installed. They are relatively inexpensive and will not mess with your normal fire code restrictions in your area. You will still be able to use a key on the door if needed but if you do not provide anyone with the key other than yourself, all others will have to use the RFID. They interface to either 12 or 24 volts so be specific when talking to the locksmith. Using a relay to 'open' the device will be a breeze. It will be a pretty simple project.

Cool!!· Thanks guys!!· I found some locks on line after I posted but I will check with the local lock smith tomorrow in town!!
