DS1620 Temperature Measurements

I have a question about the measurement and calculation with the DS1620 Thermometer Sensor. I using the DS1620, mounted on the BOE along with the BS2. I have the BS2 serially communicated and powering the PINK from the BOE. None of the components are enclosed in any case. The DS1620 performs quite well for the first several minutes (10). Over a period of time, the DS1620 begin interpreting the wrong measurements. Does the DS1620 have a threshold before its performance begins to degrade to a certain limit? Does the heat from the BOE dissipate towards the DS1620?
