USB-SER FT232R Driver help? Please help
I purchased the FTDI USB Chip.
I have been using the VCP driver for the chip, which allows the user to make it a serial port for the PC.
I want to move over to the D2XX Driver so I can use the EEPROM Capabilities, and use it as a USB Device...
...But it is not allowing me.· I uninstall the VCP Driver, and repower the device.· Instead of Asking for the driver of the device, it automatically goes to the VCP driver and becomes a serial port again.· It never allows me to change the driver to the D2XX Driver.
Is there anyone at Parallax that does support for the USB chip, or do I need to fight through FTDI's support?
Thanks.
Shaun

FTDI has a sample application "Ftdi_vb_net" on their page...unfortunately, my chip keeps taking the VCP Driver, so that software doesn't recognize it as USB.
Sigh...Are we stuck with the VCP driver?
Have you tried the FTDI Clean utility which is supposed to remove all traces of the registry entries and files from the Driver Store? I would run that and connect again.
