Controlling a CDROM motor with a BS2

Hi - Has anyone setup a BS2 for controlling CDROM motors? By chance have a link showing how to do it?

I pulled out a brushless motor out of my CDROM drive. I want to use the BS2 for the controller.

If it's a brushless DC motor I would think it would work just like any other. There are many threads on controlling motors here. It also depends on what you want to do with that "control"

I did some searches and was able to find great info on brushed motors and how to control them. But not how to use the BS2 controlling a brushless motor.

The brushed being 2 wire and the brushless being 3 wire. Not sure how to control it with the BS2.

    Thanks

You are right, they are not as easy to control as a brused version. Here's a link that may help (or at least confuse you more)

    StudySession -

This (link below) should give you an overview of brushed vs. brushless motor controllers. I suspect you will need to use a brushless motor control chip if you want to use PBASIC and a BS-2.

I thought CDrom drives had stepper motors ,,,, u shure its a brushless ? you could use a R/C brushless speed controller not gonna work as good as a MC like HB-25 or the Sabrertooth,,

Yes it is brushless. I have RC brushless controllers. I really want to learn how to build one though so been trying to find stuff ont hem.
Can find things for DC and Stepper controllers but not a lot on fabricating my own brushless controller.
