Robix's RCS-6 and Basic Stamp

edited 2007-02-02 22:01 in Robotics
hello all,
I am just a total noob who is so into robotics. I want to ask if Basic Stamp can be used to make a robot (control the servos) like a Robix's RCS-6 or not. I saw the third year guys in my school make one with RCS-6. Just wanna know.

If you mean the stuff at this link www.gibsonteched.com/rcs6.html, then yes, these are standard "R/C Hobby" servos, and are avaialble in a wide variety of sizes, strengths, etc.

They all work off a "pulse" control between 1 and 2 msec long passed every 20 msec (50 Hz). If you check out the WAM (What is A Microcontroller) text, there is a chapter(s) on servo control. That text can be found at: www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=90005. Look at the bottom of the page in the "Downloads" section. This book, and many Parallax texts and references, are free to download.
