Ir adjustment using a potentiometer

In the robotics with the boe bot manual they show you how to adjust your ir
sensors for object detection using resistors. Is there any way you could
use potentiometers instead.

    Sure! a Potentiometer is just a variable resistor.... you will need an Ohm meter to measure the resistance.

    A variation on this is to use a digitial pot where your Stamp could actually make the change in resistance (versus you having to manually adjust it)

    The original Stamps-In-Class Robotics! course made use of a potentiometer and a 555 Timer to create the frequency.

    Here·is·a schematic·example of how to set up the Boe-Bot's left IR detector circuit so that its sensitivity can be adjusted by a 10 k pot.
