VDD supply on Board of Education

In my robot design I have the Board of Education ver C and I·have two servo motors that I power using
4 AA batteries. Is it a good idea to use the vdd suppply on my board to power a couple of microswitches
or should I just use another 5 volt source.

    You can use the existing VDD for the switches. They won’t actually be powering them…They will simply make the input see a HIGH or LOW, depending on how the switches are wired. You can see a good example in the Help File or the BASIC Stamp Manual under the BUTTON command. Take care.
