Just curious.

How do you make something talk?

My guess is·the programmers manipulate the speaker frequencies to make the sounds of speech.

Is that about it?

Experience level:

Use the search in this forum for speech, propeller thread, all dates, then browse some of the hits, and you'll see lots of excellent references to computer speech. Chip Gracey and others have the propeller chip talking with fully synthesized speech!

Getting something to talk is (relatively) easy, getting it to sound like a human without using samples is (very) difficult.

But for the average Joe, you don't want to mess with any of it, just use·a pre-existing product.
