Can you amplify a simple loudspeaker through the board of Edjucation?

I was wondering if is possible to wire some batteries through the board of edjucation to a loudspeaker to amplify some small speakers? I wan't to crank up the music from my mp3. What could I do?

There are all kinds of amplifier designs out there that can be made with parts from Radio Shack for example. Here's one website www.techlib.com/electronics/audioamps.html#computer. The LM380 is a very reliable IC audio amplifier www.national.com/pf/LM/LM380.html that you can build yourself or construct from a kit like www.electronics123.com/. Check out their audio amplifier page. They have several kits for under $10.
