My own Protoboard

I've been working as collaborator on a telemetry project (university research) requiring XBee's for communication, high precision (12-bit) repeatable ADC/DAC, keyboard &·video for configuration and other good stuff.· So, after putting it off for a couple months we decided what we needed was a good Propeller protoboard to add analog circuity later (inst. amps, etc).· I was holding off until Parallax's protoboard was available, but it just couldn't wait.· So we designed a board, mainly through-hole at this point.· It does have screw-terminal headers that may be helpful to some, and of course the analog interface if you don't want to use the Propeller Sigma-Delta methods.

Due to costs on this I plan to only have the 4 board we need made. If I did any qty ordering, I'd probably·sell the UN-POPULATED board cost·at $19, though doubt it's worth that·to many,·especially when Parallax will be releasing the real one for about the same cost, some-what populated.

Just thought I'd toss it out for consideration and feedback anyway.

I'd put more space between R9 and the Propeller chip - it'll make it easier to get a chip puller or small screwdriver in there to swap chips.

I think this would be very good for telemetry projects. Is there any possibility of you designing BS2 or SX versions?

Thanks Forrest, good thought. As to SX or BS2 versions Kevin, I sell adapter boards for the XBee's that can fit into the AppMod header or SIPS into the breadboard / solderboard. In a couple weeks I'll have XBee header boards that should fit the new Parallax ProtoBoard. The DAC/ADC you're on on your own [noparse]:)[/noparse] I doubt I'll do specialized boards for those units.

Woo-hoo! It works! Ok, haven't tested the ADC/DAC yet on the protoboard, but prop/eeprom/xbee/TV/Keyboard all work, so happy so far!

For the low-low price of only $130 each,·I have my own protoboards!!

Ok, small qty prices bite, but it's all the name of research/publications, so what ya goona do?· * sigh *

But happy anyway....
