BS2P24 demo board/LCD help

ok first time using an LCD and i need help. I'm useing the BS2P24/40 Demo Board with a 24-pin module and a 2x16 parallel LCD (http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=603-00006). But i can get anything to show up on the LCD, i have the JU3 jumper installed but now i'm stuck. any help would be great, thx.

    did you try adjusting the small contrast knob on the LCD?

    small contrast knob?
    the LCD doesn't have anything on it but a ribbon cable for easy installation for the demo board i'm using

    sorry, I was thinking of the Parallax serial LCD.

    i found a contrast knob next to the JU3 jumper and that was my problem, i had it all the way down.
