The SX microcontrollers are a seperate product line from the Stamp modules. In fact, most of the Stamp modules are built around the SX microcontrollers. In the case of the BS2sx, it uses an SX28 chip.
The SX chips used in the Stamp modules contain the PBasic interpreter, while the standalone SX chips do not. Parallax supports programming the SX in Assembly and SX/B Basic, and there is third-party support for C.
