More specifically: The control signal is normally low. A 1 mSec pulse, repeated every 20 mSec, will drive the servo full left. A 2 mSec pulse, repeated every 20 mSec, will drive the servo full right.
The 'repetition' rate can be anywhere from 20 to 50 mSec, so there's lots of flexibility there. If you want the servo to 'hold' a particular position, you MUST repeat the pulse. After 50 mSec of no pulse seen, the servo 'relaxes'.
