2 Wheel balancing Robot

Hello I am in the process of designing a 2 wheel balancing robot, and I have decided on the sensors I'm going to use and I have a few choices for motors.· But I need a chasis to put all my hardware on, so I can build and model the system.·

So does anyone know a company that sells a 2 wheel chasis besides balbots.com, or where I could get parts to build it myself??

    ·· You may have to build one…I would think that a chassis might be somewhat specific to other hardware like the type of drive motor.·· Most of the smaller platforms I have seen seem to be built around a servo or stepper motor as well as the board and battery pack considerations.

    i built this a while back, but I lack the time, money, or programming experience to get it working. Its all aluminum stock from home depot. Some 1/2" flat and angle, and some aluminum flashing for the sheet. The great thing about the flashing is that you can cut it with scissors. This was made for standard servos but that probably wouldn't work. The two decks where for battiers and a BOE. I'd be willing to sell it if you can't find anything else.

    The current issue ( and last months) of Nuts and Volts magazine has an article on building a balancing bot. I don't remember if it's using a stamp though.

    The article on in Nuta and Volts with the balancing bot I believe used a brainstem, which I think is hard to come by these days. I tried building one from that article, to the specs of what was given in the article, and some of the components were hard to get. I tried using an 8 bit baby Orangutan, but later switched to the Propeller micro controller because of the processing power. You may run into the obstacle of not enough processing power or speed to keep up the balancing, but I think it will work fine. I did notice, If you are going to use the Sparkfun IMU, the data is not always nice and linear, I found I was getting some acceleration spikes, leading to not being able to balance.
