Constant period, variable duty cycle PWM

Will the counter application note cover constant period, variable duty cycle PWM?· I am thinking·of interfaces such as
Setup(pin(s), period/frequency)
SetDuty(duty) or SetDuty(motor, duty) for two motors
Looking at H-bridge ICs they frequently use a PWM input with two pins, one the inverse of the other.· Others only need one PWM input.· One cog to control two motors would be nice for differentia drive robotics.
