Serial Programmer

Hi all!
I found this drawing for a programmer http://forums.parallax.com/forums/default.aspx?f=25&m=123910 and I wonder if someone has tried it?
And does the Propeller have built in saftey diodes if the capacitor goes negative voltage?

is currently on-board the BS2 modules and has withstood the test of time on many different computers.

"...And does the Propeller have built in saftey diodes if the capacitor goes negative voltage?..."
That's a strange question to deal with, why would that circumstance ever happen?
·
There is a reverse biased diode formed through the natural process of silicon design, but certainly not
adequate to support what your question suggests.· Doing so would destroy the "diode" in a short amount
of time.

Does it work on all computers?

The http://www.parallax.com/propeller/media.asp is more reliable, but I can't make a blanket statement and say that it will work on all computers.
I can say, that since the "core" communication components are the same as ones that we have used on our BS2 modules, that any known issues
with the BS2 should also be observed with this serial adapter.

As I said in the other post, I have it set up on my homebrew board, and I have been using it for months. One thing I cannot confirm is data transmission back to a terminal program, like Hyperteminal (aka I only send to the Prop, for now). Otherwise, it works great! If you are more interested, I can identify exactly the components I use, for your reference...
