Hi
I have a EMIC modual that I have retrofit to the BOE and have noticed when running the EMIC_demo program downloaded from Parallax that it resets at volume values above 5. I have it hooked up to a 8 ohm .3w speaker and it works great at volume values 5 - 0. Any ideas?

It is probaby overloading the power supply on the sound peaks. I have seen that too. You need a more capable 5v power supply and/or a good bypass capacitor.

The 5 volts provided by the BOE voltage regulator should be able to provide enough current. Connect a big capacitor across the EMIC power supply right at its pins. I think there is a 3000uf electrollytic capactor that comes with the WAM book or others that use the servos. That would be a good one to use. Is the EMIC mounted right on the BOE? Connect the EMIC power as directly as possible to Vss and Vdd.
