do all futaba servos work the same? I was looking at some stronger servos from another site. Will they work with the pulsout command like the parallax ones?

    Johnny -

All analog servos should operate in the same manner, although the PUSEOUT values may have to be changed slightly.

    Regards,

Guess what? Parallax sells custom made Futabas under its own brand name for the BoE bot.
    The Toddler uses generic Futabas.

So how Futaba do you wanta be?

Not all Futaba's are created equal.

Some are continous rotation and others won't go in a full circle. The strength of the servo changes depending on the application it is used for and the amount of power will vary the same way. My gas powered RC airplane using servos that move less then half a circle but my servo for robotics can go all the way around.

Also, depenging on where they are hooked in and how makes a difference. For example my RC Airplane has the servos in the body with rods going to the wings which requires more force them my RC truck where the servos are geared straight to the steering.

In answer to the PULSEOUT command - yes it will work with different servos provided current requirments are accounted for and handled correctly.

The Hex Crawler we carry uses Hitec servos.· Almost every manufacturer of servos has high torque versions.· Some have metal gears and ball bearing shafts.
