The Hitachi H48C, will it work for me?

Hi,

I've read as much as I can find·about the H48C three-axis accel* and need someone from Parallax to please answer some questions.

The Hitachi documentation says it has static/tilt capabilities. Does this mean: If mounted on a flat surface, that is mounted on a pole going through the center, and the pole were moved forward or backward, left or right,·an H48C·can·output a signal that can be used to measure, with accuracy and sensitivity, the amount of deflection? Does it just measure the·instantaneous g-force applied, then reset till the next application of force, or, if the force is constant, or slightly varying, can it·continue to measure the g-force, and then a degree of deflection inferred?

I have a BOE, but I'm willing to get into the Propellor area because my initial search of the forums seemed to find only Propellor code.

Sorry if the question seems dense.

Thanks for your time.
