Multiple Master Networks

Does anyone have particular suggestions of uses for multiple master networks?
I have set up my CANbus to operate about 8 nodes, but I am a bit stumped on what to do with it.
The nicest part is that you can have several masters and different groups of slaves on the same two wires.
Mostly I have been thinking of home automation, but I would like to consider a robotics project.
