How to home brew TSSOP

I need to solder some Tssop's. Any suggestions? At first I thought to send out an adapter board(ie. stamp) and have then stick them on it for me. But there is time involved in that process. I need a fast solution. Heat gun? Convection oven? Or forget it?

This chip has 38 pins. 19 per side, the total legth of the chip is .38. I think a pencil is out of the question. Hopefully somebody has a simple answer.

Using a very small tip 15W iron, tack pins 1 and 19 to hold the chip in place.· Apply an abundance of flux, lay a small bead of solder paste across the pins on one side, then drag your iron across the pins.· Adjust your speed until the paste melts and flows, no longer.· You may have a bridge or two to clean up.· Believe me, it takes practice.

You can use paste even with no solder mask? I wish there were a pictorial somewhere of what you are describing.

Very, very few of the boards I solder have solder mask and I have no problem.· Solder will not stick to a bare board, although it may bridge if you have a bit too much solder.· You don't need a pictorial - you do need solder paste in a syringe with a 20 gauge needle and an iron with a very small tip.
