On the Parallax "Product Catalog" page for the··BASIC Stamp 2pe Motherboard····· Stock#:·28300··· <!-- product category -->Category:·Boards-BASIC Stamp·
( http://www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=28300·)· under the DOWNLOADS section of this page is a viedo name· Zipped video of the MoBoStamppe on a bug robot (.mov).· This is a viedo of a bug made from a Basic Stamp 2pe Motherboard. This looks like a nice little project. My question is does anyone at Parallax or on the Forum know any information on the building of this Bug Robot?

    Hi Joe,

    Mea culpa. Yes, this is a project that's in the works. Right now I'm using it as a platform to develop and debug a navigation daughterboard for the MoBoStamp. Once that's reviewed (and hopefully approved), I'll try to turn the "MoBug" platform into an actual product — possibly in kit form. With any luck, this week or next, I'll have a second MoBug proto built and some cost data, which I can send to the review panel at Parallax. Stay tuned!

    Hey Phil, was this project ever made in to a kit, or are they any plans available for public consumption? it looks really fun!

    No, not yet. I was never terribly satisfied with the ruggedness of the front leg connection to the servo. As it is, it puts a lot of sideways load on the servo shaft. But I've just gotten a laser cutter and can now cut splines for the servo directly into acrylic and other materials. This opens up some new options, since I no longer have to rely on the available servo horns for mounting. No promises, but I do want to revisit this design at some point.
