I want to connect a BasicStamp2·to a USB port of a computer running Windows 98. Do I need to install any driver?

I know you can use USB with 98SE.·(I have it on an old laptop that I use for diagnostics on my cars)·I do not think all the versions of 98 support USB.· In any case, you will have to install the drivers.

Only Windows 98 SE (2nd edition) significantly supports USB. It comes with minimal drivers and most everything requires its own drivers.

Just to confirm, w98 SE (basically the later versions) will work fine with the Stamp USB converter once the drivers are loaded. The same 98 machine works with most thumb-drives as well.
