The above-mentioned Eagle is available for OSX; McCad at mccad.com/ is available for OS9, OSX and Windows.

I've used McCad since the days of the Mac Plus. www.mccad.com/ They have a limited lite version for free, but the pro versions are $$$.

I've played with Eagle on Windows before, but I wasn't too happy about having to install X11 on OS X to run it.

You'll find Apple has included X11 on it's System discs since OSX 10.3 - it's an optional install. Why don't you want to install X11?
