USB Servo controller

Recently I have purchased a USB psc with 2 standard servo's.
I hooked everything up accoording the manual and installed the PSCI software ( i have no basic stamp)
But as you can guess nothing works.
servo's are not centering and PSC is not responding on get version command from PSCI software.
I tried the jumper setting, and I'm sure I have enough power (6Volts 3 Amp DC supply)
I do see the servo move a little at power up, but they are not centering.
The green LED is flashing when I change a setting in PSCI, so I guess the virtual serial port is working correct.
But when I press GET PSC VERSION, the response is 'version:...'
Does that mean there is no answer? Can it be that I have to set some baudrate manually? Can it be the driver PIC is not programmed?

thanks for your help

Jacco

I've got the same thing happening. I can see the green LED flash during communication, but there does not seem to be any output to the servos.

I also get the "version:..." reply from the Get PSC Version command on the file menu.

Other than calling support, does anyone have a solution?

I really don't want to wait until Monday :-(

    Hi John,

the conclusion was that the firmware is not programmed. My vendor exchanged the psc for free.

    Jacco;

Thanks for the feedback. That's what I was afraid of. I've got e-mail off to support, and will try calling them after 8:00 AM California time, but don't expect to hear from them until Monday.

I got two of these with a Nomad from CrustCrawler, so I've got CrustCrawler support also on the e-mail. Does anyone know if this will get handled via CrustCrawler or Parallax?

I also had the same exact problem. I returned it to Parallax, and they diagnosed it as missing firmware. Worked fine when I got it back! Be sure to contact them and get a RMA number before sending it back. ( I just saw the other posts in this thread so make sure you contact the vendor you got it from. Might be the vendor or might be Parallax -- I really don't know which one actually handles it, but Parallax rectified the situation. )

I bought it direct from Parallax with expedited shipping so I would have it by today. Very disappointing I had plans of just relaxing this 3 day weekend in my shop with my servo controller and a pile of servos......

This problem has been handled very quickly and professionally by Parallax and Chris Savage. I do not think I have ever had such great service from a supplier.
