Hex translation, I feel pretty studpid but I'm used to the $0F format

Hi,

So, I'm looking at the DataSheet for the Max7219 on page 7 under No-Op Register(because I'm having a lot o problems trying to daisy chain to Max7219 ics) where it says ,"....send the desired 16 bit word, followed by three no-op codes(hex X0XX).

is HEX X0XX just 0

I know its a stupid question, I'm just trying to cancel out all the possible reasons I can't seem to daisychain the two ICs.

Jeff,
I would ASSUME that X0XX means that the first, third and fourth digit can be anything as long as the second digit is a zero, that is considered a no-op. If that is the case then, yes 0 would be a no-op. You are sending 16 bits for the no-op right ?

Thanks alot for taking the time to reply to such a silly question...and no I'm pretty sure I wasn't sending 16 bits for the no-op. Thanks again for the kicking me in the right direction.
