cm8880 DTMF transciever X10 telephone stuff

why is this impossible to find? does anyone know how to get one?

i need to have my stamp answer my phone when it rings and decode numbers i type in to trigger X10 stuff. it looks like this chip will do what i want it to....but if anyone knows how to do what i am looking to do i would love to hear from you!

    It's basically an obsolete chip. Last I knew Electronic Goldmine had some but you'd have to check.

    thank you everyone. do i need a crystal for this chip to "listen" to DTMF tones coming in? or do i only need the crystal for generating tones?

    You will need the xtal for the MT8880 to work. You might want to look at this post if you have not already.
