Bluetooth and Javelin's - Wireless Downloads

Greetings to all.

I'm about to embark on a rather large, expensive robotics project.

The robot will be based on a Lynxmotion 4WD3 chassis, with dual Lynxmotion Bot Boards powered by two Javelin Stamp's.

Above and beyond that, it will also contain two Matrix Orbital PLED modules, dual HB-25 motor controllers, some switched VRegs, two IR range finders, two PING))) sensors (one of which is on a servo for left/right scanning), and some 7.2v NICAD packs.

My budget for the unit is $1500 Canadian. It's basically going to be a project to teach me about robotics again- as it's one of my long-lost hobbies that I want to get back into.

Anyways...

I need an easy way to program the robot. I'm perfectly fine with Serial/RS-232, but as it stands I can afford a Bluetooth setup.

What's the easiest way to make an RS232 compatible board like the Bot Board from LynxMotion, and enable it so that I can setup a Bluetooth Serial Port on my PC to program the Javelin's from?

Would this be to use the EB500 module(s)? Or is there another solution to achieve the above?

Cheers!

    Hello, Scott.
I believe if you have read my thread posted recently about Bluetooth connection, I change·to use SSC-32 board instead of PSCusb with Wiport Wi-Fi connection and they work well.
    Good Luck!

I don't think the BlueTooth are capable of programming the javelin.
The 433 MHz RF units·should be:

See this thread about using Bluetooth for communication (not programming) with javelin.

    Edit:
Just noted the RF units are limited to 19K2 baud.
The javelin is programmed with 28K8 baud, so they may not work either.

    regards peter
