Serial adapter?

A few people have mentioned a 3 transistor serial adapter, but I can't seem to find the schematic anywhere. Could I please have some help?

If your just outputting data from the SX to something like a PC, you don't need any hardware, if your communicating via a few feet of wire. Just use the Inverted option of SEROUT.

If you would give more details we would not have to guess at what your are trying to accomplish.

Yes, you do need a line driver or a similar interface which can handle the differences in signal (voltage).· In some rare cases you can get by with a resistor, but my experience is this often doesn’t work well with many machines.· MAX232 is the easiest for 5V systems, and as I understand it, MAX3232 is the 3.3V solution.
