Parallax, what is the possibility of a new propeller version?

Will we ever see a propeller in a dip fashion including a voltage regulator, crystal, eeprom and programming standoff much like the BS2?
Sure seems possible.

Yes, the Propstick USB will be released shortly (dont ask for an exact date, but to give you a general indication of a timeframe I wrote a description for the website's product listing yesterday).

Wow! Thanks, I look forward to it!

Will this be along the same lines as the current prop stick or more integrated like the BS2?

    Hi Paul,
that is great to hear. What are the dimensions of such a board - looking forward to it.

    thanks in advance

It is the same dimensions as a BS2p40, we had to make it clear that it must not be placed in a BS2p40 socket since the pinouts and voltages are different. It is pin compatible with the original Propstick.

Eric, what do you mean when you say integrated? It will be fully assembled using surface mount components and the QFN (leadless) package version of the Propeller.

That took care of my question. (Integrated meaning all parts on one board) This is what I am looking for and will wait for its release.

This sounds great, will their be a carrier board to go with this, or is this primarily for breadboard usage?

If you want something for prototyping you may want to wait a little bit for the P8X32A-Q44 ProtoBoard...

If it's possible from an engineering standpoint, it would be neat to have an interface board that would allow you plug the Propstick into a BS2p40 socket. Something like the way the PWM-Pal fits on a BS2.

It's a can of worms we are are not likely to open. There is a marginal chance something would be done, but not in the vein you are thinking.

well we have landed a space probe on an asteroid, yes. . . . to answer your question, but the real question here would be if it's worth it to interface the prop to something designed for something 10 times slower...

The benefit of having an interface isn't to connect the Propeller to a BS2p40; it's to be able to plug a Propeller into the 40-pin socket on the Professional Development Board.

You could possibly build your own-with the schematic and PCB making software around it wouldn't be too hard.

No, Nagi we don't provide release dates, only general periods. We are getting all the ducks in line to make the product availible.
