Is this an option ?

a way to not make a pin cathode or anode, just polarity null ? I'm thinking of a project where I need to use some and/or and inverters, but want the ablilty to control whether my output pins are positive, negative or null.

If you use a BASIC Stamp directly, you can simply make it an input to make it 'null'. Another option is a tri-state buffer, when disabled (using another pin), the output will be high impedance (Z), allowing another device to take control of the line if need be. This is how computer buses work.
