Transmission (String) Information from PINK to BS2

Could someone tell me how to transmit a string from the PINK (Parallax Internet Network Kit) to the BS2? I trying to figure out the code that enables the BS2 to read and retrieve the content of a variable within the PINK. I trying to switch an LED off/on through the PINK. The BS2 reads the variable from the PINK, and determined by the content if it should be off or on.
