I was wondering if using PING))) Ultrasonic Sensor· instead of infrared would enhance the bot or is not?

i would like to use two on each corner of my bot besides the one in the middle as illustrated in "Roaming with ping"

If it is better, what changes should i make to the program?

    You would do better getting the PING))) bracket and servo and using that to scan the environment. If you had two PING sensors, they couldn't be used simultaneously because they'd interfere with each other. They also have a somewhat narrow beam and, if fixed, would be limited in what they detect. The infrared sensors are usually used for checking broadly for obstacles in the direction of motion. The PING))) can accurately tell how far away an object is. You can do that with the IR sensors, but it's done by changing the frequency of the IR source which reduces the sensitivity of the IR detector (since it's off frequency).

    Besides, the bracket only adds $14 to the price, and that 'scanning' effect looks so cool!
