Can the SX identify colors and shapes? For example could it tell the difference between a red triangle and a blue square?

Can it measure objects in a picutre? For example could it measure the square and the triangle to see how big they are?

If these can be done·does anyone have a link to code?

    Wow, that's tough.

The SX is an 8 bit microcontroller.
It only does what you tell it to, and you have to be very specific.

It cannot recognize anything, any more than you could plunk a pentium CPU on top of your algebra book and expect it to do your homework.

If I were setting out to solve the problem of cognitive machine, vision the SX chip would not be my first choice of computing platforms.

    I suggest you start here:

Good luck, you will need it! smile.gif

Yes, the SX can do this - check out the CMUcam (note the SX28 in the picture) www.seattlerobotics.com/cmucam.htm
and here's a version that's specifically designed to work with the BS2 www.parallax.com/detail.asp?product_id=30051
