SXSIM Permanent Minimization Issue

Hi

I'm running Window XP and was noodling around with sizing the SXSim Windows, and somehow·I now·have an issue that is causing the SXSIM to be permanently minimized.

If I click the SXSIM icon in the SX-Key IDE, the program launches, however minimizes itself in the windows toolbar showing·two windows:· SXSim·by Gunther..., & Commands.· I tried single/double clicking these with no luck to maximize.· ALT-TAB is able to scroll to it, but again·does not maximize.

I am able to close them, though...

Also, if I launch SXSIM.exe from the tools directory, the windows are visable, but as soon as I load a program, both windows go into permanent minimization again.

Any thoughts?· An initial thought is to reinstall the IDE.· My source compiles fine.

Thanks!

Rodney

    Hi Rodney,

possibly the associated SIM file is corrupted somehow. SXSim stores the window configuration in this file. Please try to delete the SIM file, and re-launch SXSim. I hope this helps fixing the problem. Another trick is to maximize (not re-store) the command window from the toolbar, then quit SXSim, and re-launch it again. When you then load the LST file again, the command window should come up maximized but you should be able to re-size it then.

    Thanks Gunther!

The SIM file seemed to be causing the issue, as I renamed it and everything flies, as usual!

I believe it happened when I maximized one of the windows and quit the program....

None the less, I'm quite happy now! Nice job!

    Hi Rodney,

I noticed that when you minimize the command window, and then quit SXSim, the "minimized effect" will come up, the next time you load the LST file. This is because SXSim saves the current window sizes and positions in the SIM file for the next session. So, in case the window is minimized, it will be minimized, when you load the LST file again. I think I'll add a change to the next version of SXSim to show the window with its default size in case SXSim finds that it is minimized in the SIM file.

    Gerne geschehen!
