New to this: Did I make the right purchase?

After years of interest, I finnaly decided to take the plunge and ordered the Boe-Bot® Kit for Microsoft® Robotics Studio.
Probably hit the purchase button before doing all the research I should have. Should I have just started with the USB/Serial version first? I have some Visual Studio experience and felt this is the route I would eventually want to go in but am unsure if I am biting of more than I can chew while I get proficient.
Will the kit I bought allow me to work my way up as the other versions do?

Absolutely. The kit contains an assortment of the best products we make, and it's sold at a fair price. If you have buyer's remorse now or in the future I'll be sure to take it back hassle-free, but I've got lots of confidence in the hardware you purchased for your first experience. All of our serial kits include a USB to Serial adapter now, so you can go either way with one set of hardware. If you bought the USB version, that's also fine. Little difference. Both versions of the kits will educate you in the right direction with our products, and microcontrollers in general. One of our most popular products is the Boe-Bot, and the Embedded Blue RF devices are our best RF transmitters/receivers. You got them both in one kit for a substantial savings.
You're in for a lot of fun, even if you don't pursue the Microsoft Robotics route.

The purpose for the kit is to provide an easy way for customers to get all of the Parallax parts in 1 box. The big benefit is that the kit is less expensive than buying the parts seperately.
Also, the Boe-Bot kit is just a standard Board of Education that comes with a robot chassis & parts. You can buy the other Stamps in Class courses and build them with the BoE in your kit.
If you have any concerns about building the Boe-Bot, you can download the manual form the Parallax website while you're waiting for your kit to arrive.
