Cameras, car sensors and automated go kart
I want to automate my go kart and as such want to use a laser range finder or some capable sensor set up. Lasers I have found so far are limited to about 150 feet of range, is there a place that I can get parts to make or purchase a decent range finder?·The gokart goes fast enought it needs to have a more sensative sensing system (top speed about 45).·Lasers can detect flat surfaces, objects or a combination of both, however that might not be the best way to go.
Currently I have in mind to use a few different things. A SRF10 has a reasonable distance range, and those on all four sides combined with LIDAR upfront should be able to produce decent control.·Most of the stuff I ride on are dirt trails or open fields·and finding the edge is easy but finding the road in a straight empty place is another story. Currently it seems that using LIDAR and SONAR combined is the way to go.
Any thoughts, tips, ideas, comments?
