Ken here again, using some high-pressure sales tactics. These modules really want to be $99.95, as shown by the regular price. My input to you is to get it now, before the price increases.

    Ken,
How easy is it to re-program the SX on these ? That is what I want to do with them, but I don't see any SX-Key header in the pictures.

I have one thing to ask and that is when you run the memory map it shows 95% full
Would you able to put the Output to a LCD Display or would you have to use another BS2 to use·a LCD Display for the ouput of the
    Parallax GPS receiver modules.
    ·······································································································································································
Will there a Demo that will show how to do this with two BS2 one for the GPS receiver module and one for a LCD Display····· Any·· idea.gif

Thanks for any help in this matter

The demo program shows how to use all of the features, but you'll have to pick those you really want to use --·you can't have it all·(or... get a BS2p.)

    Bean,

·· There are pads on the board for attaching an SX-Key/Blitz with a 4-pin header in it (The Key/Blitz) or you could tack the header onto the pads/holes.

    Sam,

·· I assume the 95% full you refer to the BASIC Stamp with the demo code loaded?· Remember, this code (like the DS1302 Demo Code) is an example of how to access all of the data from the GPS Receiver.· With the menu, debug statements, etc. it will be larger than your own program that may make use of this device.· As for an LCD, yes, you could send the data to a Parallax Serial LCD, but you would have to reformat the output and configure which data you want since the LCD won't be able to display as much as the PC Screen using DEBUG.· There won't be a demo for 2 BS2 sicne that is not necessary.· Take care.

Very nice module, I may buy one...

But why is the baud rate at 4800 and not at 9600 so to be able to connect at the serial port of the PC without having to mod the SX code...rolleyes.gif

    Chris,
    · I heard a rumor that this also has some extra "hacker" pins/pads on it too.
    · Can you confirm or deny·that ?

    Bean, All,

··· The extra pads on the back are test points which connect to unused I/O pins on the SX20.· Advanced Users could take advantage of these (8) pads to gain access to these I/O pins without having to solder onto the pins of the SSOP package.· Attached is a schematic for the module which should be on our website soon as well.· I hope this helps.· Take care.

Thanks. That does help. I LOVE to see hacker friendly modules.

Now I can't wait to get mine in the mail...
